I confess: I enjoy electronics stores because they sell cool gadgets.

But I also remain guarded; shopping there can feel like worship. Their shrewdly structure “liturgy” leads me ultimately to the cashier. And, their liturgical plan has all the right parts: welcoming greeters, attractive music, flashing lights, eager and experienced “priests” (“we are not on commission, just here to serve!”). Instead of pews, they offer comfy chairs to view the massive TV screens. Instead of confession, they offer credit. They offer attractive options for all I need in life, and much more.

When God’s people gather for worship, we too have a liturgical plan. However, our liturgy ultimately leads to the Cross and to Jesus…or at least it should. But how can we ensure that our liturgical plan does in fact lead to the Lord and to an authentic, life changing encounter with Him?

Join Carolyn Arends and Daryl Busby for a MinistryLift Deeper Worship Seminar that begins with the biblical foundation of true corporate worship. After a discerning review of our theology of worship, this seminar then leads the participants on a journey through historical traditions and practices, culminating in an assessment of contemporary corporate worship in the evangelical church.

Registration is at 6:30 pm on Friday with sessions running from 7:00 - 9:00 pm on Friday and 9:00 am - 4:00 pm on Saturday.

The early bird cost for onsite participation in the seminar is $75 for the first weekend (March 13-14) or $125 for both weekends (March 13-14 and April 24-25). After March 1, the cost will go up to $85 for the first weekend, but remain the same for both weekends. There is a discount of between 5-20% when two or more people come from the same church.

The cost to livestream the conference is $35/person ($45 after March 1) or $140-540/church (depending on the size of the church).

For those who would like to take the training as a course for graduate credit at ACTS Seminaries, please contact Liisa Polkki, the ACTS Director of Admissions (Liisa.Polkki@twu.ca). The cost for taking the training as a graduate course is $1,320.
